Halloween 2013

For Halloween this year we had a Lego Man (again!), a two headed monster, and Iron Man! Ethan wasn't going to dress up this year, but at the last minute decided to go out with his cousins and threw on his Lego costume. After putting it on, we realized how much he has grown this year! The red lego body used to go down mid thigh the first yer he wore it. Audrey and Aubrey loved the idea of a two headed monster and love each other enough to be stuck together for the entire evening and David chose to be Iron Man back in September and actually stuck with that idea all the way till Halloween. I am realizing that pretty soon my kids will have completely outgrown dressing up, but then I realized that I have Audrey and stopped worrying. She'll want to dress up forever!

Audrey & Aubrey loooooooved their tinted blue fake eyelashes. Pretty girls.

Halloween | 2011

This year our church Halloween Trunk-or-Treat was a little early, but the kids were super excited to get dressed up. Audrey was a muggle "nerd" this year and she pulled it off quite well. David reeeaaally wanted to be a power ranger. I have no idea why. I don't think he's ever seen one, but he thought the costume was "awesome". Ethan was a LEGO man. When I showed him this costume on Pinterest, he was dying to do it so Jason and he worked on it for weeks. It ended up being a bit more work than anticipated, but I love how it turned out. It's hilarious!

Audrey's favorite part of her costume (other than the fake suspenders) were her bright rainbow colored socks. Love em.

Kids can't wait until Halloween so they can get dressed up all over again!

Mosby's Pumpkin Patch

Last week was David's preschool field trip to Mosby's Pumkin Patch and he was super excited. He remembers going last year and couldn't wait to go and pick out another little pumpkin. It was such a treat to wake up to a gorgeous sunny day, unlike cold and rain that the weatherman was predicting. I was so glad we went because I think this will be our only visit to the pumpkin patch this year since Ethan and Audrey showed very little interest in going.

David kept asking me all morning... "Is it time to go yet?!".. and so we got there a little early, which turned out perfect because he had so much fun climbing up on the tractor and running through the little hay maze with another preschool friend. Plus... it just means more time to take pictures for me!

Mrs. Cloud showed them all the different type of pumpkins and gourds. How cute is David with his little hand raised to answer a question?!

Heading out to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin and go on a little tractor ride.

Afterwards we treated David and Dana to a little lunch at Taco Time!

Friday night costume fun

Ethan and Audrey felt totally jipped when they found out that David and I hit up the new Halloween store so I told them that I would take them there Friday after school. As soon as they got home from school, Audrey would not let me forget it either! And, of course, it would be way more fun if their friends could come along for our creepy adventure! Muahahahahahaha!!

This isn't really the halloween decor that I'm into... a little to dark for my taste, but the kids had fun activating all the displays and even got spooked by a few of them, especially David and Dana.

And they ALL had way too much fun trying on all the halloween costumes.

It was a lot of fun and I'm sure the kids could have stayed longer, but I didn't want to wear out our welcome. All said and done, I only bought David his Buzz Lightyear costume (which he couldn't wait to get home to put on). Still working on what Ethan and Audrey want to be.

The Kidd's Halloween

This year we had a punk rocker, a motocross rider, and a Super Davie out trick-or-treating for Halloween. Audrey was originally going to be Elphaba from Wicked, but after finding this hilarious punk rock wig at the costume store, she just HAD to change her costume to be a punk rocker. Ethan was easy since he decided he would like to be a motocross rider and since he already has riding gear we didn't need to do much there. And David decided to be "Super Davie"... more on that later.

Last week Audrey and Aubrey got all dressed up in their Halloween costumes and we went out and took some fun Halloween pictures of them all decked out. It's fun having a girl who loves to do this kind of stuff. The girls were crazy and cracked me up as they tried to remain in character as a punk rocker and a zombie ballerina. Here are some shots from our adventure down by the Cedar River.

And how cute is Davie? He tagged along for the fun and kept yelling... "Mom! Take a picture of ME!"... how could I resist?

David loves to dress up and play at home, but he's not quite as into going out in public in such attire. All he wanted to wear was his superman cape. Not an actual superman costume... just the cape. At the last minute I decided to cut out a letter D from felt and put it on his shirt so that he would look just a tad more put together. Thank goodness, my friend Melissa always has everything I need at the last minute. She supplied the felt and the iron on adhesive. David may not get any award for coolest costume, but he should definately get an award for being so stinkin CUTE.

Super Davie to the rescue!

David and his buddy, Dana, all dressed up for their fun Halloween party at preschool.

It was easy to get Ethan to pose for pictures this year.... all I had to do was tell him he could ride his bike and he was all for it!

And, of course, Audrey wanted to take more pictures on Halloween and this time she wanted to use our Guitar Hero guitar as a prop. So funny!

Hahaha! Snapped this right after I suggested to Audrey she may want to wear her coat over her costume when she goes trick-or-treating. Apparently that would not look cool.

The kids had so much fun this year. With the super fun Trunk-or-Treat activity at church and trick-or-treating with their friends Friday night, and the buckets full of candy they came home with, they all agreed it was an awesome Halloween.
