Back to the Zoo

I got to visit the zoo twice this month since David had his second grade field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo and it was so much fun because David loooooves the zoo! I was dreading this field trip. The entire week and been cold and wet. Really, really wet. When I woke up this morning to dark skies and pouring rain all I wanted to do was turn on my fireplace and crawl back in bed, but David's excited smile was enough to keep me from it.

The entire bus ride to the zoo was loud, wet, and cold and I could hardly wait for the day to be over, but as soon as the bus pulled off I-5, the most miraculous thing happened. The rain stopped. Completely. And then the sun came out. It was AWESOME and I had so much fun watching David run from exhibit to exhibit with his buddies. What a fun day!

A super fun group of boys!

So glad I could include the big turd in my capture. Whoops.

Just look at that sun!!

A few pictures from Audrey's 6th Grade Music Concert. She looked so pretty and grown up and they did an awesome job.

Back to school | 2013

Boys trying to figure out their schedule for their first day of junior high.

First day of middle school! I'm so happy that these girls have been their for each other through so many "firsts"!

Definately feels like fall!
Our elementary bus stop is starting to shrink! These kids need to stop growing up so fast!

And they're off!

Last Day of School

Once again I am playing catch-up on my blog. I've got a few fun summer posts, but first I have to start off with our last day of school last year! We had our annual neighborhood end of school pizza party. The kids look forward to it every year and everyone was so excited for summer to start! Lots of extra happy faces around today.

David and Audrey also had class parties to celebrate the end of the year. David's first grade class celebrated by having an ice cream party. Here's a picture of David with one of his favorite classroom buddies, Mason.

David and his first grade teacher, Mrs. Rau.

Audrey's class celebrated by having a water balloon fight. They got even more wet than anticipated when halfway through it started to poor rain. :)

Ethan was the first one home and was awesome enough to help me set up all the food for when the younger kids got off the bus.

Seahurst Field Tirp

A few weeks ago was time going on the first grade visit to Seahurst Park. Kind of bittersweet... and of course, it was raining. No. Not just raining... pouring! But even though we were a tad wet, it made for a fun adventure on the beach because there were so many treasures to be found. We found sea cucumbers, starfish, crabs, sea urchins, and barnacles everywhere. The boys were SO excited about everything the saw and my favorite moment was when they set a little crab on a leaf and put it in a stream and it became a little impromptu water slide. Silly boys.

David and his buddy, Aaron.

Finding seashells by the sea shore. David was super stoked about every little thing. It was a magical day.

This was the first crab of the day we spotted. Unfortunately, he was dead.

David and Ryan having a good time despite the rain. What do little boys care about that?

Searching for more treasures.

Babies!

Holy Barnacles!

Love this boy!

Time to head back toward the buses...

My sister, Maria, was kind enough to text me a picture of her on a gorgeous beach in Hawaii while I was here so I thought it only fair to text her back and prove that I was relaxing at the beach as well. Haha.

I seriously could have done with less rain. Eating our lunch was a bit comical and I basically hid my camera in my coat and snuck it out occasionally to snap photos. But all in all, it was a fun day. It will be a fun memory and it's a little sad that this will be my last time here on a school field trip. Where does the time go?
