Ethan's Rainforest Project

Ethan chose to make a shoebox diarama of the rainforest for one of his school projects. He was very proud of how it turned out! At first he complained about having to do the work, but once it started coming together he got really excited. They were encouraged to do most the work themselves and he did a good job painting, coloring, stapling, taping, and figuring out where he wanted to put everything. He even asked me to take a picture of it before he took it to school!
He had to present it to the class and tell them everything he knew about the different layers of the rainforest.
He was prepared to answer the following questions...

1. Where did you get your information? Internet, of course!
2. What was your favorite part of doing the project? Painting the tree stumps
3. What was your least favorite part? Coloring all the animals.
4. What would you do differently next time? Make it much bigger!! and hang the birds and butterfly with string.
5. What did you learn? That it takes a whole year for a fallen leaf to decay on the forest floor because it gets no sunlight.

He said he did a good job presenting and that his teacher really liked his project.

I was just going to ask if those were loofahs on the treetops, but I guess Kelly answered that for me. Great idea! He did a wonderful job.

Good job on a great project! I remember in the 4rth grade making a pioneer wagon with my mom for a big project. I still remember the main wagon was made from cardboard! We even made little flour sacks and water jugs! This will be a project he will remember for a long time.
