Whoo-hoo! Today the kids started back to school. Audrey has been so excited about going to first grade for some time now! She's excited that she now gets to go full day, eat lunch at school, and have three recesses on the BIG playground with all her friends. Ethan didn't want summer to end. This morning, however, they were both excited to go to school and see their new classrooms!

They both came home very excited ... we surprised them with a little neighborhood "first day of school" party and had pizza, fruit, cupcakes, and punch for all the kids in the cul-de-sac!

It was such a nice day...both First Day and weather. I think they all had a lot of fun...no whining at bedtime. I think they were all exhausted!!

I'm jealous too... I'm glad that you were so happy with them going back, you must be very secure with your school system and their friends... i think that's why I'm still crying and it's the 2nd morning!!

I want to live in your neighborhood, too or maybe have Melissa move to mine. I also thought the the picture of the shoes was so clever. The kids are growing up way too fast . . . and I still remember the big lump in my throat the first picture of Ethan getting on the school bus back in kindergarten! I want the world to stop moving so fast!
I love the first day of school party idea...maybe I will do that next year. Brett and I both think that Audrey looks a lot like you. I have no idea why, but sometimes she reminds me of our cousin Robin. Amy I crazy?
