Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam

Today was David's first day as a Sunbeam in primary class at church. He was very excited because I had been telling him all week that he was going to go to a "new", "big boy", class at church and that it was going to be fun! After sacrament was over, I started walking him to his new class and when we got to the primary room and he realized this was his new class, he started backing up and said, "no", but I picked him up and went and sat with him and the other adorable little sunbeams.

David is definately one of the youngest sunbeams so I have had anxiety about this for a long time. All the other little sunbeams seem years older than my little guy, except for cute little Hailey... they're both in the same boat!

But after a few minutes David decided he wanted to sit on his own chair. He was excited about the new sunbeam necklace he got to wear, and a few minutes after that I told him I had to go to my own class and he just looked at me and said, "bye mom".

My sister-in-law, who works in primary, said that he did great. He roamed around a little and ended up sitting on his teacher's lap once, but for the most part he did great. He said he had fun, but the true test will be next week and whether or not he wants to go back! I'm crossing my fingers.

I get a little emotional thinking of him in Sunbeams! I'll keep my fingers crossed for next week!

Can you say, "grown up". Man, he looks so much older than your previous posts w/ pics of him. Love his church outfit. I have to admit, that I too, will have anxiety when Truman goes off to sunbeams. It is crazy how quickly these little guys grow up, and develop their personalities. He's a very handsome little boy.

Wow! Look at that big BOY! These kids are growing up way too fast! Good for him that he was strong and brave!

he does look so old all of a sudden! I am so sad that he (and all of her other friends) have left Dana in the dust. She keeps telling that she's a Sunbeam. Next year.

Can you believe that your baby is so big??

So, I don't know if you have already done this or not, but one of my really good friends in AZ is an a-maz-ing photographer and she has a blog that she posts some of her stuff on. You can find in on my blog and it is called "Jill's Photography". Anyways, I just thought you might be interested.

oh... and here's a quick update for those who are curious. David did great again this week. he still wanted me to walk in with him and sit for a minute, but i probably wasn't even there for more than 3 minutes before i could tell he actually wanted me to leave. let's hope this keeps up. :)
