Back to school

Well... no more sleeping in, no more playing outside until after ten, no more changing in and out of swimsuits and washing loads of towels five times a day because as of September 2nd, the kids are back in school. We had so much fun this summer that it is hard to believe it's over. It's been nice getting back into a routine, but I can already tell I'm missing those lazy days of summer.

Audrey is going into second grade this year and she really likes her teacher. She was sad that a lof of her good friends that she made last year were not in her class, but she was happy to see some familiar faces too. Audrey is very outgoing and loves to make new friends and she's excited about school this year.

Ethan is going into fourth grade this year! He is really going to miss his all-time favorite teacher from last year, but said that his new teacher is really nice too. He has started to read the Harry Potter books for the first time this year and he says, that despite the fact that he didn't think he would like them, that he actually does. (I knew he would!)

David can't wait to start going to preschool in a few weeks. He's excited to be going with his buddy, Dana.

Some of the kids look happier about returning to school than others.

Dawson and I had fun looking at the pictures.

I actually feel a little left out now that I no longer have school age children. I miss the excitement, the feeling of fall in the air, buying school supplies, new school clothes, and back to a routine. This post makes me a little melancholy. But, I love all the pictures!

you make being a mom look so fun! I love these photos! Especially the one of Ethan with all of his freckles up close. It sounds like Audrey is a friend magnet and will make new friends fast. Cheers to another school year!
