Idaho | West Yellowstone 2011

This summer we went to Idaho for three weeks to visit family, hang out at the Munk's cabin in Island Park, and back down to Meridian again to hang out at the Hall's until we felt that we had finally managed to over stay our welcome! I have sooooooo many pictures to go through that I have been avoiding it by even doing laundry and yard work in an effort to procrastinate. So... I decided to just do a little bit at a time and since I took the least amount of pictures on our visit to West Yellowstone, I thought this would be a good place to start.

The Munk's amazing cabin in Island Park is only about 20 miles outside of West Yellowstone! Since Jason's parents had never been, Julie and I decided to take them on a quick day tour to a few of our favorite places.

The West Yellowstone tourist group for the day.

West Yellowstone Lodge. I don't think I've ever visited West Yellowstone without stopping by the Lodge. It is seriously amazing!!

Waiting for Old Faithful, the most famous geyser in the world, to blow!

Julie is convinced that someone is just hitting a switch somewhere and activating a hose underneath. Oh ye of little faith.

On the way home, we stopped by this last geyser that I had never stopped at before. Everyone was pretty done for the day, but I convinced Neal to walk up to the top with me while Julie waited in the car with her mom. I'm so glad I did because I got some of my favorite pictures of the day. (They were probably my favorites because I had never seen it before.) Awesome!

The Grand Canyon of West Yellowstone. It's amazing everytime I see it! Makes my stomach do a flip flop everytime I lean over the edge.

The obligatory group shot taken by a stranger.

I didn't take as many this year, because you can only have so many pictures of the same thing! It was a lot of fun. The weather was gorgeous. I will definately go again. And now Grandma and Grandpa can say they've been there, done that!

More to come!!
