Maple Valley Days was last weekend and the kids were so excited to go check it out. We all love to go on rides (except for dad), but unfortunately neither Jason or I were feeling very well, so I thought it better to refrain from the rides this year. boo-hooo! It was probably a good choice, since by the time I got home I felt really sick and totally had the chills. Ick. But the kids had a BLAST.

David was so excited when he saw all the rides. We were there for a little bit before he noticed all of them, but when he peaked around the corner to the parking lot and saw all of those rides, out came this surprised... "
Huh?" It was so funny. He just froze for a second and then moments later he was running straight ahead. He loves these things!

This shot just cracks me up! Obviously Dad and Ethan weren't as excited to be watching Davie on all the little kiddie rides as David was to be riding them. Man... those two are so alike.
David takes these rides
very seriously.

The first ride Ethan and Audrey wanted to go on was the ferris wheel. They said that when they went down, it made them feel like they were going to wet their pants.

Ethan really,
really wanted to go on the bumper cars and he talked Audrey into going with him. They both really loved it!

But the most exciting and talked about ride of the night was The Gravitron! It's the big ride that just spins you in circles for what seems like an hour! I was nervous for both of them to go on it, because I wasn't sure what they would think or if it would make them sick. I even suggested that they go on it last "just in case". After they got on, I just started laughing and then I started getting worried when I realized how loooooooong this ride was. I was afraid they would both come out either in tears or about ready to barf.
Here is a picture of them acting all brave before getting on the ride.
"The Gravitron"

Luckily when they got off, they were laughing and screaming about how fun it was and that they wanted to do it again and again. They thought it was the "funnest ride ever"!

great pictures (love the bumper car of Ethan)! but they make me a little sad ~ WHERE ARE THE CROWDS?
I know it was way more fun to do the rides without waiting in line, but that was the least-crowded carnival I think I've ever attended. :(
How fun! Would have loved to have seen David's face. And laughed at how "cool" Ethan and Audrey were about the Graviton. Personally, I've never cared for Ferris Wheels.
I didn't even know the Gravitron was still around. Oh, to be a kid again and NOT puke after rides!!! It looks like fun...
these shots are AWESOME! i have not had luck with pics at fairs, etc. what lens did you use? they are excellent!
I so wanted to go to that but completely spaced it off! Oh well, next year.
Great pictures, as always. Sorry you were feeling pukey. There was definitely something going around!
becca, these pics are rockin'!
specially love that one of jason & ethan bored by david's ride.
hilarious!
how very fun. You got some great pictures. I too love the pic of Jason & Ethan waiting for Davie on his kiddie ride. You capture the moment with that one.
