After spending some time in Boise (see post below), we headed off to Rockland, Idaho to visit the farm that Uncle Stan grew up on. His father and brother still run the farm located here and it is such a beautiful place with a population of approximately 300. Man!... what a fun place to play. We spent hours riding motorcycles all over the farm and nearby mountains, riding horses, playing on the farm equipment, canoeing in the nearby "swamp", and just enjoying the beautiful scenery.
These first three are a few of my favorite HDR shots Jason took while walking around the farm...
The old barn
David's
favorite tractor... much more of this thing to come.

Billybobs...

"Driving" the tractor.

Stan showing Jason the farm where he grew up.

Billybob Senior...

Dad, Blake, Ethan, and Garrett taking a ride around the farm.

David and Audrey's turn for a ride!

Dallin

Katie riding Ethan's bike.

Canoeing in the "swamp"
The girls were nice enough to take David out on the canoe....
Hannah and Dallin were so good at riding the horses. I was shocked to see how fast they would go!

Big cousin, Dallin, giving the little ones rides on the horses.

We took far too many pictures of David and this tractor because we spent far too much time out watching David play on this tractor!

... and we won't ever forget about the cat! This cat followed Dallin and Austin home from fishing and Audrey became immediately attached to him. She loooooooved this cat and played with it almost the entire time. This was the most friendly cat I have ever seen too. He just loved to jump up on your lap and curl up right next to you. He always wanted to be with someone and Audrey just ate it up. When it was time to leave Audrey was devistated... she wanted us to take the skinny abandoned cat home with us. She was so worked up about it that I, not being a cat person, almost considered bringing this thing home.

She was in tears for the last fifteen minutes or so before we had to leave. Shortly before pulling out, she asked if she could get out of our truck and take one last picture with the cat. She tried sooooooo hard to not look sad, and to smile in the picture so that she would always remember him. It seriously broke my heart...

We had so much fun here and we hope to be able to visit again someday! The kids were in heaven. But we were excited to get on the road to Yellowstone!
Yee-haw!

Your pictures are simply amazing. Love the last one...she's so beautiful.
Oh my, poor little Audrey!!! I am actually crying, looking at her picture, she looks just broken hearted. Me, being a cat person, would have probably snuck the cat home and then when Brian noticed I would say something like, "That stinker! It must have snuck in the car!" ;-) My kids wouldn't even have to beg me, I would have brought it home myself, lol. It was a pretty little kitty. Is she over it now?
I love that last black and white picture of Davie, he looks JUST like Ethan! All of your photos are gorgeous, I also like the one of him sitting in the tractor wheel.
Okay, I'm a little teary-eyed about the kitty, too. So touching. I bet you have a kitty before too long. That farm has everything anyone could ever ask for for a vacation. Loved the one of Davie sitting on the inside of a big tractor wheel. What great memories!
I will never forgive you for not getting Audrey that cat. That is the saddest picture ever. Looks like you had a blast. Love all the pictures (except the last one)
I am now crying b/c of Audrey's picture... you can see the heartbreak in her eyes!!! The pix are great though!!!
you know how I feel about cats -- well, that last picture would almost make me take him/her home. Those eyes are going to HAUNT me!
