On our drive out there we made a quick impromptu stop at the Captial Building since my kids had never seen it before. The kids thought it was awesome and really could have stayed and played there forever. Everything looked so beautiful with all the fall colors.
I warned my kids before we got to Aunt Rose's house that it was hard for Grandpa to move much, and that even if he didn't talk back to them, he enjoyed seeing them and hearing them. They were very excited to see him again and they all went up to his bedside to say hello. Even David, who sometimes has no interest in engaging in chit chat with adults was so sweet when he said "Hi Grandpa!" in that adorable voice. They also loved visiting with sweet Grandma who made their day by telling them over and over how handsome and pretty they were. Audrey brought one of her stuffed animals for Grandma and Grandpa and gave it to them before we left.
I loved being able to visit them again and had such a fun time sitting around the table with Grandma, my mom, my Aunt Rose, and my Aunt Amy going through all of her old pictures and listening to her tell us about her memories. What an amazing life these two had!
What a special memory for me and I know for my kids too.

WOW..THAT SURE IS SPECIAL. I AM GLAD YOU ARE ABLE TO DO THAT. IT CAN BE HARD SOMETIMES FOR KIDS, I KNOW THAT. THE PICTURES ARE SOMETHING TO CHERISH FOR EVER. BEAUTIFUL
That is a great memory for me, too! I know mom and dad were thrilled to have you there. And it was so interesting and so fun to stop by Washington's State Capitol. The kids had a geat time going up and down the stairs. Me, I enjoyed just watching them...but not so much going up and down stairs.
Your kids will have such fond memories of their great grandparents!
