Happy Birthday David

Today was David's 5th birthday party! He has been waiting soooooooo long for the day to finally come. Every day he has been asking me how many more sleeps until his birthday! (That is how he counts time.) As soon as we woke up this morning the first thing he asked me is if it was time to go. Good thing we scheduled it early!

This year David really wanted to have his party at McDonalds. Last year his buddy Isaac had his party there and David thought it was so cool! I will admit that I loved it too because I got to come home to a nice clean house and was able to leave the crazy there! I may not get mom of the year award for creativity with my store bought cupcakes, Happy Meal lunch, and entertainment provided by Playland, but David was over the moon and had so much fun!

Helping mom set up for the party!

David was SO excited to open his presents! I mean, C'mon!... who isn't, right? He was absolutely and positively so excited about every single gift. You probably could have wrapped up a rock and he would have thought it was the most special rock in the whole wide world!

David's actual birthday was on Wednesday. To make the day special he had his best buddy, Isaac, come over to play. He also helped me make his double chocolate birthday cake and after dad got home we went out to dinner and then came home for cake and presents.

Can my baby really be FIVE?! Love this kid!

When I read this I remember at General Conference how they told us to "simplify", "simplify". You get mom of the year for that and David absolutely loved it!! Mission accomplished! What a sweet, cute boy! Loved looking at the pictures!!

Hey, I say kuddos to you for having his party somewhere other than your home. I've heard lots of stories from Mom's whose homes were trashed after bday parties. Looks like so much fun, and I love his expression in all of the pictures. Happy 5th Birthday David!
