Thursday was the Glacier Park Elementary School carnival. The kids are excited about it every year. They have bouncy toys, game booths, face and hair painting, cake walks, tatoos, and lots more. It's always a crazy and chaotic evening, but this year wasn't as bad since I felt that the kids were old enough to take off with a friend and do the carnival without me. So that left me and David to go have some fun!

The first thing David wanted to do was see the fire truck! He, of course, loved it and spent quite some time climbing up the big stairs into the front, back, and side of the truck. He loved pretending he was driving it and wanted to do everything "by himself".

David was also so excited to go on some of the big blow up toys, but when he realized that we had to wait in a very long line, he was pretty disappointed...

But don't feel too bad for him. We decided that playing on some of the playground toys would be just as fun and it cheered him right up.

Audrey mostly wanted to get her hair painted and get her face painted! When she found me to show off her face paint, I told her to pose for a picture and this is what I got. She wanted to keep it nice so that she could wear it to school the next day, but when she woke up it had gotten a little smeared, but she made me laugh when she said, "now it's the moon and the stars on a foggy night". Silly girl.

I didn't see Ethan and Blake until the very end when things were winding down (Blake came with us since Julie couldn't make it). They were both working
very hard to earn a few more tickets so they could get something good at the prize table.

It was a great night and the kids had so much fun and my favorite part of the night was how appreciative they were. They were so excited and kept telling me thank you over and over again for bringing them. I loved it!

P.S. I had nothing to do with Audrey's outfit. That is all her.

These are really cute pictures. The one of Davie crying was so cute. I was sure he was crying because you made him get out of the fire truck. I guess not. Looks like fun.
Ooh, how fun! I remember my school carnivals and how fun they always were, too. There was something about being in the school after hours that made it even more exciting.
Cute pictures!
great pictures! That first one made me smile ~ and then sad. If we don't have someone new step up to run the Carnival next year, the PTSA won't do it. Too bad, because the kids had a LOT of fun!!
What a fun day for you all! The pictures of David made me realize how he is growing up so fast and made me a little sad.
What are you talking about? I love Audrey's outfit! And seriously fun pictures.
You definately need to enter the pix of Davie with the balloon and crying b/c of the lines into your I love faces contest... priceless. How do you pick the pictures to hang at your house?!? My walls would be covered with all of the great shots you get!! THat's funny about Audrey's outfit... before I scrolled to the PS: part I thought to myself "I guess Audrey likes to dress herslef too, like my girls!!" LOL
These are great! I love what I see in each of your photos but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. Your composition and post processing rocks!
Becca, can you email me to tell me how you get your pictures so big?
I loved the school carnival, in fact we even took my nephews a few times, and had a blast. Great photos, and the one of Davie crying is hilarious, and Audrey's outfit is equally as funny. Sounds like a wonderful night to be out playing around. It is sweet that they remembered to thank you.
Ok-the picture of David upset over waiting in line made me laugh out loud!! I would also love to know how you get your pictures so big. Maybe a tutorial for all of us less skilled photographers?
Great post!
